Is the meaning of life in the dictionary?

meaning of life
Lancane asked:

Have you ever thought that the question might be difficult to answer because it’s a bad question? Symbols have meaning. Words have meaning. Life is just a word. The purpose of life is whatever you make it.

you should read “the purpose-driven life.” Life has to have a certain purpose, if not then what’s the point if we’re all living for different things and no particular goal?

The meaning of life is in the Bible!

JESUS is the meaning of life! Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! :D

Only Jesus truly satisfies the longings of our hearts! Only Jesus gives true fulfillment, and only Jesus gives rivers of Living Water!

The meaning of life is to be loved and blessed by Jesus, to believe in Jesus alone for salvation, to be in friendship and fellowship with Jesus, and to worship Jesus forever! :D

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation.

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Please pray now: “Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!” You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)

I like Solzhenitsyn’s definition in “Gulag Archipelago”: “The purpose of life lies not, as we have grown used to thinking in prospering, but in the development of the soul.” From there, we need to figure out to what ends and by what means our souls are to be developed, but this has given me a framework in which to build a rich and rewarding life.

  6. Jonathan R says:

the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

  8. Stevie G: please stand by... says:

I agree w/ you. That question fucking annoys me. The “meaning” of my life is however I choose to define it and myself. I think anyone who asks about the meaning of life had better ask himself some more concrete questions.

  9. piefkeholz says:

We are created beings. God created us to have fellowship with Him. Thus He created Adam and Eve who disobeyed God which then opened the door of sin and death. Because of sin God who is Holy and righteous could no longer have open fellowship with them. To solve this problem He sent Jesus to die on the cross and pay the price for the sins of the world. Those who believe on His name and accept Him as their savior will be cleansed by His shed blood thus making them acceptable to God. We can now have fellowship with the Father through the Son.
