How do you find meaning in your life?

meaning of life
Dustin W asked:

I intended this to be a rather broad topic so that I could hear more of your answer, instead of specifying this question to a certain topic of family, sports, health, happiness or whatever you want. I wondered what you do on a day-to-day basis and why you want to do it for your life to have more meaning. Some people rely on god to give them answers, others seek self-help sources, but I am not entirely sure if either are right for me. So, back to the original question, what do you define as giving your life meaning?

Why do you need to have a meaning to life? I guess the most meaningful thing in my life is my relationship, but I don’t really look for a meaning I just like to live for what’s happening at the moment, I like to go out partying every weekend, shop when I feel like it and have as much fun as possible.

  3. Life is what you make of it. I know thats almost cliche. but in reality your life’s meaning is dependant on the goal you set for yourself, or if you are happy just living in the moment. If you spend too much time searching for meaning, you miss out on the actual doing.

Most people can be satisfied with a materialistic meaning.
They find meaning in the physical values (beauty) they have, what they possess (money) and the skills (P.H.D) they have acquired.
Meaning in life can be raising a family,
It can be getting to retirement,
It can be fulfilling a dream,
    Being rich, influential, kind, etc.
The purpose I find here on earth, is different from the spiritual purpose I have been given. To find your own meaning you have to figure out how it is you fit in, and where it is you belong. You can do this by following your heart.

Whatever inspires you to get out of bed each morning is what drives most people to their ultimate meaning of life.
