In my utopia I would strive for the enlightened despot, or a benevolent dictatorship.

I truly believe that democracy, when put in practice, does not work. So I would go for some form or Anarcho/Capitalism.

I would significantly reduce the powers of the Court. The legal system would be severely muzzled.

A Theocrasy headed by the true and living God. We will have this when Jesus Christ returns to rule personally on the earth.

Als wij het politiek correct vonden om van elkaar te houden en enkel samen met elkaar te worden….dat zou zeer aardig zijn.

    Hello:

First I think that “ideal society” is a relative term…A KKK member has their ideal society which is radically different from a decent religious person’s ideal society which are probably different from my ideal society. Bertrand Russell said “The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation.” For a society to work it simply takes cooperation and this will carry them as far as their potential or desire to succeed.

That being said: My ideal society would be in large similar to the United States with its multitude of good and services available, however it would be a socialistic republic. This is to say that I am satisfied with the system of the three branches of government (as laid out in the constitution) and the election system in theory (not so much in practice). Pretty much socialism is the most idealistic system in that it gives the most to the people that have the least (which there are more of than anyone). I think this system (if it works right…and in my ideal fantasy here it does) it would allow people more opportunity to do what they want in work and in life. With the profit taken out of business its workers can reap the benefits in the form of higher wages, lower cost of products, less hours to work and a greater say in what they do. They greater availability of goods and services would allow for a higher standard of living for most while also allowing greater opportunity for self advancement through education or a variety of jobs. Really in the modern life there is not so much a need for competition as there is for cooperative action. What is it that build the pyramids? What is it that helped the United States become an economic/production giant during WW II (and the Allies to overcome Germany)? Cooperation.

Really if the people of the United States acted/voted together (or actually voted) most of these things might occur of their own accord, however because there are a lot of different views and really a motivation of self interest that this will be tough to have come about.

However I am of the thinking that no one is made greater by making anyone less, that no one need be left behind and that there is room enough for everyone at the top (even if the top has to become not owning a private island or having a near limitless money supply…though I suppose there would still be people performing tasks so invaluable that they may have access to giant homes and private helicopters, however they would have to continue to be elected to whatever position that grants them these things.

Whew that was long, thank you for your attention.

    Rev Phil
