I always enjoy Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527), whose best-known work, “The Prince” is an excellent primer for how to function within and make use of political systems to maintain power.

    O. M. Aivanhov’s “A Philosophy of Universality” offers several advantages: he lived in recent years; and his book is a collection of readable oral talks to regular people.

Ken Wilber’s “One Taste” or “The Simple Feeling of Being” might be another fun choice.

Or, “Autobiography of a Yogi,” Yogananda, and “The Path of the Higher Self,” Mark Prophet, and “The Great Divorce,” C. S. Lewis, and “The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?”, Free and Wilcock, would be good/fun spiritual choices.
