i pulled this clip out of episode 6 of the BBC’s “Trials of Life” series – “Home Making.” The whole series is f’n great.
I have a great respect for termites, i have kept colonies of them at home for study. They are the perfect society, if you will. excellent video, thanks for posting it.
it actually takes alot of work because they can chew through anything. I do not have any webcams/video. I only have a single photograph i took of the small enclosure (these were regular subterrenean termites that i found and relocated (made satellite colonies) and kept in a few pieces of tupperware. They did make tunnels and such, but obviously nothing as spectacular as those in Africa. I’d love to see those in person one day.
if ants or termites were bigger we’d all be fucked.. lets hope they dont start breeding near nuclear power stations im not ready to become a termites bitch.. XD
