look up the “make a scar with bubble gum” video. Aye, ther be a wee tiny clue.

  2. richardgreene says:

I tranced my girlfriend. Now I use her butt as a pin cushion. Now, where can I put my tools?

  3. Kingsatok says:

I think it was the plane flying over, must have distracted robby.

  4. SignorSincero says:

He did fuck it up… the needle got stuck because he left it there. Derren rips his flesh, then swiftly puts him under.

For the record, Robbie was very sporting, because I’d have chinned him. Derren’s a legend, but that’s way out of order.

  5. LilinChildSL says:

I don’t get it either. Someone explain?

  6. Caleb9849 says:

I don’t really understand the point of this thing. He stuck some needles in him, and for all we know he put some numbing stuff on his arms first. What’s the big deal here?

Side note….when he went to remove the second needle, I thought Derren had fucked something up, lol.

  7. randomperson6662 says:

lol, I enjoyed seeing Robbie constraint cause I really hate the talentless ass! WOOHOO Derren was using him as a pin cusion. But I saw no point to the experament, lol.

  8. c00yt825 says:

Then, what the h*ll are we arguing about? :P
We’re just disagreeing then on wether the ‘state’ he’s in should be called a trance or not.
(and of course, the needles aren’t really going through him. I could’ve believed this if he didn’t jerk the needle around so much in the left arm, and is he told em he wouldn’t feel anything. Combined with that you don’t actually see him poking it through.)

  9. Bigturns33 says:

Now your getting it thats my point. Trance stats are also conscious! You said it exactly right. Its just what you call it you could call it “SHIT” if u wanted to its just a name you use for it. Im not saying anything different i think your taking me to be saying something different. Maybe the way im explaining it.

  10. c00yt825 says:

    (part 2:)
therefore it is quite pointless to talk about such a state, because there is no actual line between being conscious and being in trance.
Anyway, besides that: Nowhere in the clip does Deren tell Robbie that he won’t feel pain. Whenever you see him hypnotize someone he will tell them what they will or will not feel/see/hear. That’s the whole hypnosis, suggesting they won’t feel (in this case) pain. But he doesn’t have to, because he’s not hurting him :D

  11. c00yt825 says:

Being in trance ‘state’ 24/7 would mean that consciousness wouldn’t exist?
Nah, the fact is, that there is nothing special about a so called “trance state”. Everything that is possible while your conscious, is also possible in trance and vice versa. (actually the discussion we’re having about if it is or isn’t a different thing is still being discussed by the pro’s too)
(Wait for part two ;) )

  12. Bigturns33 says:

Your in trance states 24/7 its just a fact. Looking at a video on the computer you are in a trance state or watching the TV or driving your car. Every aspect of your life you are in a trance state weather its consious or or sub it doesnt matter. We dont live in the world we live in our minds. Which means some minds have become more suggestible than others based on things happening in eachother lives which are transtates even DB would agree to that.

  13. c00yt825 says:

Okay, his attention is diverted to the song, not noticing that DB is itching his arm, sticking it together. I’m sure he’d feel it if you stuck that big a needle through him.
Hypnosis can probably cause lack of feeling, even to this extend, but he’s standing up, singing a childrens song. He’s just distracted.

(btw, not to flame, but there’s (probably) no such thing as a trance ‘state’. It’s very well explained in DB’s book. It’s just being more suggestible than usual.)

  14. Bigturns33 says:

It depends on the context of whats going on surly. He is clearly in trance right there. As stated before the mind becomes ocupied by the redundant song and shuts off somewhat its a redirected vocus. Hypnosis is nothing to doubt its a natural thing that happens with the mind or should I say “TRANCE STATES”

  15. c00yt825 says:

I read his book, where he clearly says it’s not a smart idea to hypnotize anyone drunk, epileptic of addict. That’s why I have my doubts.

  16. Bigturns33 says:

he asks him to slow down the song… the song acts as a deepening tool. The mind becomes so occupied and becomes redundant the mind switches off.

  17. Bigturns33 says:

Its clearly hypnosis. Actually its easy to hypnotise an addict. The bodys mechanisms only react if there is a nervous response to the pain.

  18. c00yt825 says:

Don’t quite believe it’s real. The glue is a much better explaination than the lack of blood and the numbness.
Furthermore, Derren is not one to hypnotise an addict ;) that’s bad mojo.

  19. kawola17 says:

They actually go through, it’s more a matter of pyschology, you missed the whole point. This is the same method used for some patients in hospital, where they cut them open without using anesthesia and the patient feels no pain. The power of the mind.

  20. kawola17 says:

    Wrong!

  21. explain456 says:

This trick is simple. The needles never went through the skin. The white towel is applying a PCA or latex to the skin then he pushes the needle between this. Its an old trick. Robbie seen with his eyes and the pain came. Have a close look in the video you can see the colour of a patch that doesn’t match the skin colour

  22. HellsMessage says:

robbie looked impressed when he saw them in him for the first time :)

  23. foxtrot665be says:

Great video- but imagine if you could tell someone what their thinking of by only looking at their body langage!

  25. flateric4you says:

derren is amazing but I’ve seen this one act done better by a professional hypnosis therapist. I mean, the guy really went nuts poking holes into people and shit.
