His questioning of others’ claims was important enough to get him killed. Is that a philosophy? To question things that don’t make sense?
When things are really out of whack, in a society, some begin to openly question what is claimed by “authorities” and “experts” but you can’t really blame Socrates for that. It’s the nature of the beast.
Look around. Some profoundly intelligent people have been surrounded by and drowning in this stinking, shallow pile of crap their whole lives. It’s bound to have an effect. Show them a chink of light – the slightest chance that folks are actually capable of “getting it” – and there’s no telling which way they’ll jump. If they jump publicly, it’s pretty much over. It will no longer matter that some would like to see them dead because once they step into the shallow end of the pool, they’ll be wishing themselves dead, anyway.
