Its not that you aren’t already susceptible, its both the fact that you have a near-bird’s-eye view, and it’s on camera. If you were in the audience, it would be much larger and more difficult to see. Because of how much larger it would be, you couldn’t read it consciously through a glance, while you could subconsciously. If any of us had been there, we might see a flash of light, but we’d disregard it for another light effect.
Same here man. White words flashing around the screen saying “FORGET”. I’m glad I’m able to catch these things….but I am human so there will be a time where I will be susceptible to those tactics.
My guess is that the mind can only think of a certain amount of things at once. so he rushes her giving her all soughts of orders also touching her on different body parts. her mind becomes over loaded then sleep

Yes, Ive seen many of Derren Brown’s T.V. shows. I think at the begining of every one of them he says he uses magic, misdirection, and showmanship. They are simply more efective techniches than the subliminal stuff. I still think he is great.

Once just when the lights start to dim and the bright white light shines “forget” on the front middle of the stage, the second time on the wall to the right (or that might’ve said “FOCUS”) and the last time just when he’s finishing up, it flashes at the same place as the first time.

Plus, the screen is small. We can see more over a small area. If it was on a huge screen, it’d be much more difficult to notice. I see what you mean……
