Damn he didn’t get me once. I have ADD which might play a roll in it. But he emphasizes things and makes me think of something, so I do but since I had ADD I bet my unconscious mind flips on its own so I am not influenced by the things he emphasizes not because I am stupid.
This is true, and it also applies to certain kinds of naturally creative people. If over the years the brain gets used to thinking in a slightly unusual way, then in a situation like this, where you have to make a split-second choice without thinking consciously, it can instinctively reject the obvious or suggested answer. Astronauts in training undergo psychological tests to weed out people like this - astronauts would be a perfect audience for Derren Brown.
f***ing genious m8, u need 2 do another 1 plz. u r mint at this. u shud go on the show an beat him m8. the thing is evry1(voiding the watch coz i wasnt wearing 1)worked. its amazin wot our subconcious duz without our knowledge(so 2 speak) lol. hope u du anotha 1 soon plz.
They all worked on me, however I completely understood why. Thing is, none of this would have worked if the title of this clip didn’t say “revealed”. I was looking for the hints, rather than just absorbing the program.
And that’s how it all works… The title of this clip tells you what to expect in exactly the same way him waving his hands around makes you think of circles and triangles.
As a mater of fact, If you still say he didn’t get you.. That could also mean that you are more stupid than the avarage person. .. If you see a magic trick for the first time you may think it’s amazing, but if the same person would say that he is gonna show the trick to you right after or even show you before the effect of the trick loses it’s purpose.
The first trick got me, and the one where i closed my eyes, but not the others. This is because I knew he was tricking me and therefore was subconsiously looking out for the secret gestures and suggestions rather than actually concentrating on what he is saying. This is why it may not have worked for some of you.
Tks for showing us how he does these simple ones, it’s pretty neat. I wouldn’t think he’s retarded? He’s already claimed that this isn’t real “magic”, but only suggetion etc. I think his work is amazing because he is great at NLP and what not, and it’s great how complex our brains are but how easily they are teased etc :P.
Spoiling? Pffft. I knew everything he was going to try to use against me. Some of it was smart and convincing, but the watch points were silly. He also got my shapes wrong. I had an octagon :). The bearded guy worked though.

Almost the same, but not quite since you only get the “25% off” both *only* if you buy both items. No tricks there.
February 27th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Woooah awesome! =D The last one and the first one totally fooled me ><
February 27th, 2008 at 9:31 pm

February 27th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
Advertisers pull these tricks on people every day to make you buy their products :P
For example, the Adidas store was having a sale. Buy one get the second item for 50% off!
You’re getting two items for 25% off. But saying it the first way sounds like a better deal. :P
