He may do magic… but this works not beacuse of magic but because of NLP and Hypnosis..
No it doesnt just work on the stupid… its works through rapport between them, embedded commands and other techniques…. this dude is really good
before getting nasty we ought to remember that one part of Derren’s skillbase is magic. It’s not always down to psychology and this clip highlights that.
That was an excellent display of NeuroLinguistic Programming. At every step of the way, he was giving audio or visual suggestions to Steve, in order to subconsciously program the idea of the card. The intro of money, set of the “Yes! I want MONEY”, part of the brain, creating a predisposition to “YES” for the rest of the game. VERY predictable… but cool.
i knew it was no he told him he was wrong because human nature is to do the opposite. This is a very basic idea. It would probably only work on someone stupid, like that guy.
what i think might have something to do with it , is the word Process , he keeps repeating that ,and it might just be the way of how he pronounces it . if you’d say PROcess its more obvious for the other person to say no , if you say procESS , it would make sense if he would say Yes. but this is just a theory

he isnt stupid, just unlucky. you could have a thought process and everything, but at the end of the day it’s a guessing game.
