Derren denies using NLP. And sure they do, but if actively put into a situation expecting some form of trickery, I don’t believe everyone would be so susceptible.
A lot of people find some of this stuff to be a little bit unbelievable, but this is really just a more intensified version of the same thing that affects you every day. It’s a system of advanced psychological tactics, neural linguistic programming, covert persuasion and hypnosis that cause these effects.
It’s very easy to not believe it, but simpler versions of this very thing happen to you on a daily basis ;)
Derren would make a really good comic supervillain.

Being a medical student, I was a bit skeptical about hypnosis, which seemed too good to be true. However, my curiosity made me learn more about it. Now, after studying hypnosis for quite a while, I understood how it was used by Darren.
He first established rapport with the film student. He started hypnosis when he held the guy’s hands, speaking in a different voice tone, while constantly bombarding him with confusing sentences and suggestions. He got him in a trance.
